Shout-out to the lockdown for making me watch a lot of series. I've seen the Stranger Things reviews (with fortunately had no spoilers) and it was HYPED. A series about kids hmmm... I'll pass, was my initial reaction. After a few recommendations I decided to jump into it as I literally had all the time in the world.
First thing that caught my attention was Winona Ryder. Haven't seen her since the 90s. She was well in her element as she plays the concerned single mother who everyone seems to think is having mental health issues.
Well they had me at top-secret government experiments. I don't believe in science fiction anymore. I'd rather call it science drama. Let's face it, everything that was shown in these so-called sci-fi movies is now our reality (i.e smartphones, sex robots, video calls, we even have a whole robot with citizenship now).
Without putting any spoilers I get why this the most-watched series on Netflix. If you're a fan of sci-fi thrillers and conspiracy theories this is right up your alley.
99 out of a hundred times, the missing kid is with a parent or relative. What about the other time?
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
